DESIGN : CEES BRAAKMAN (1953)
FM03 lounge chair was designed by Cees Braakman in 1953.
Braakman was head designer at the Pastoe factory. He was strongly influenced by the international modern style movement during that time. He experimented with new materials used for furniture, like solid steel bars. The FM03 is a great example of minimalistic use of materials in interior design. The slightly tilted seat is constructed with springs and several layers of foam. Sit back and relax, this iconic lounge chair sits extremely comfortable!
Check out the functional design aspects such as the magazine pocket in the backseat. Great example of Dutch design.
Pastoe has just relaunched the FM03 chair and it is upholstered with Denmark’s fabric Kvadrat Steelcut Trio series. Choose your fabric color. The wooden frame at the backside is made of natural oak and will always remain visible.
